More banks to disappear from the High Street as Virgin Money announces the closure of another 31 branches

More bank branches are disappearing from the High Street with Virgin Money shutting 31 of its locations.

The challenger bank, which bought Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank three years ago for £1.7billion, said it will close the branches early next year, with 112 staff losing their jobs.

Lenders have now announced 4,525 branch closures since the start of 2015, including 748 this year.
